Dee (Torres) McCaffrey, CDC overcame a lifelong battle with obesity by eliminating processed foods from her diet. She has maintained a 100-pound weight loss for over
15 years and is now a Certified Diet Counselor helping others lose weight and eat healthy. Raised in a Mexican-American family by a single mother of three, Dee had to overcome many obstacles. She
worked her way through school and became the first female among her sixty-three cousins to graduate from college.
Dee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Chemistry from San Jose State University and practiced organic chemistry for more than 16 years. She is a Certified Diet Counselor trained at the Bauman College in
Penngrove,
CA and is a member of the American Association of
Nutrition Professionals. She conducts lectures throughout the Western United States and teaches
a nutrition program which includes how to shop, prepare and cook healthy and tasty meals while staying on a budget.
She wanted
to counsel others on how to lose weight and eat healthy
too. Dee
then founded The Center for Processed Free Living, which
offers instruction in nutrition, cooking, and
implementing lifestyle changes for weight loss and
optimal health. The
Center’s clients have experienced improvements in
their conditions of obesity, arthritis, diabetes, high
cholesterol and hypertension.
